Our Story
It has a story.Imagine a name like Turicchi and trying to make reservations or trying to deal with pronunciation, spelling, or heritage. After many attempts and failures, Gregg (patriarch of our family) decided to shorten and make it easy, so we became known as The Fox Family when we went to dinner.
My mother was an avid animal lover and had every living creature you could ever imagine, from a pet armadillo that followed her around like a dog, to you name it, we (she) had it. She had the most wonderful sense of humor and compassion for living and giving.
She lived most of he life in Houston but settled in La Grange where animals and nature were her life. One day as she was driving down the road, she saw a wounded fox that she tried to save. It didn’t make it so she had it stuffed and it lives with us today.
We could not think of a more fitting name that The Smiling Fox Den. The good spirit is here and we hope you enjoy your stay.
